A well-known national architecture, planning, and interior design firm currently is recruiting a Director of Design to provide leadership within the firm’s award-winning multifamily group. The Design Director will have autonomy but also will enjoy a close working relationship with the principal in charge of the group. This 200-person firm is known for its passion about good architecture and is located in a renovated historic building in downtown Memphis, TN. 

This 17-year-old firm offers a diverse, quality project base and has been recognized through numerous publications and awards for it’s work in a variety of project types including multi- and single-family, hospitality, corporate and medical.  The firm is recruiting a talented designer to lead project teams and ensure design quality, client satisfaction and project success. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in management and leadership but also desires hands-on involvement in design and project management work.   

Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability to execute projects, motivate staff members, and represent the firm with clients.  Other qualities include design talent, management ability and communication skills.  A B.Arch. and at least 7 years of experience in addition to architectural registration and direct experience in multifamily projects is desired.
